The Making Environmental Connections conference was another great success! We thank all our sponsors, speakers and participants who contributed to that success.
Our new membership year begins in April. So, it’s time for those of you who couldn’t make the conference or who didn’t become members to join SWEP for 2010.
Please download our membership form under "Membership" on the right sidebar. Your membership in SWEP Capital Chapter means that you are the first to be invited to SWEP events. Also, you will receive complimentary lunches at our Lunch-and-Learns throughout the year. In addition, you’ll be invited to join us at our business and planning meetings and provide your input into our future activities.
An important goal of our group is to encourage students to pursue environmental activities and careers. Your membership dues also go towards supporting student members in SWEP.

On Nov. 5, SWEP Capital Chapter held a Regulatory Update Seminar attended by staff from Pennsylvania DEP, DCNR, consultants, legal and municipal professionals, non-profit organizers and academia. Speakers from the PA DEP provided information about upcome regulatory and policy changes for various state programs.
Afterwards, SWEP Capital Chapter hosted a Business meeting/luncheon where we officially elected the new slate of officers and discussed plans for the upcoming Making Environmental Connections conference scheduled for early March.
Speakers and panels for this conference are needed. If you would like to speak or to provide us with a tip on whom we might invite to speak on a current topic, please let us know. Comments and suggestions can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sponsors are also needed for the conference, which is always a terrific networking event for students and professionals. Consider becoming a sponsor of the upcoming conference to be held at the HACC Wildwood conference center. Sponsors can email email@example.com for additional information or can contact Kim Hummel if they were a sponsor from prior years. The SWEP board heartily thanks all of the previous years’ sponsors and looks forward to another interesting and successful conference for 2010.
